IFTSA is Looking for Talented Students!

The Institute of Food Technologists Student is Association is having elections for next year to fill vacant positions on the board of directors! If you’re interested in getting more involved with IFTSA then you should consider nominating yourself for one of these vital positions. We are in need of ambitious and hard working students to fill these volunteer roles to become the new leaders of IFTSA. Whether you are interested in becoming an area representative, Vice President of Development and Communications (that’s what I do!) or heading up one of the many competitions IFT offers, there are many ways for you to contribute.

Although there is a lot of work to be done as an IFTSA officer, it’s also a lot of fun and provides an excellent opportunity to network and put your skills to good use with a professional organization. When I took this board position last year I will admit I was nervous and was unsure if I could do it. But I can tell you it has been a great experience. I’ve met a lot of great people from going to the Annual Meeting and Food Expo and learned so much. Working with other students from around the country has been great as they are a true group of professionals!

The IFTSA is one of the fastest growing divisions of IFT and is starting to branch out internationally. We are going to need talented students like yourself to help run the organization. I encourage any one interested to use this link to head on over and read about some of the positions that we need fill and nominate yourself. And hurry because the nominations deadline is February 1, 2014!

IFTSA officers let us know about your experiences in the comments below!
