Students: Super Charge Your Career by Networking at the AMFE

The Annual IFT Meeting and Food Expo is just weeks away. Among the many conferences and exhibits to see, there is a huge opportunity to network with fellow students and industry professionals. It can sometimes be nerve racking to walk up to a stranger and start a conversation. Thankfully, IFT has organized a Division Networking Reception open to all who want to meet new people and hang out with old friends. You never know: the person you sit next to could be looking to hire and meeting them on a casual basis could help you build a professional relationship.

And you will definitely want to get there early as free drink tickets (21+ with ID) will be provided to the first 500 people. There will also be food and a giveaway in the form of a $500 travel grant awarded in the first half hour to one lucky student. Food, drink and great conversation – there really is no reason not to attend! This will also be a great opportunity to check out IFT divisions you may be interested in joining. The IFT divisions have many opportunities for students to get more involved by volunteering or participating in leadership roles. These opportunities to work with industry professionals can provide invaluable experience for future career goals so I urge you to check it out!

The Division Networking Reception will be held on Monday June 23rd from 4:45 – 6:15 pm in the New Orleans Theater Foyer (Convention Center).

Science Meets Food

The IFT Student Association (IFTSA) is a forward-looking, student-governed community of IFT members. Through competitions, scholarships, networking, and leadership opportunities, you’ll set yourself apart from your classmates (unless they’re members too).
