To help raise money for the various activities the Food Science and Human Nutrition Graduate Student Association (FSHN GSA) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign hosts during the year, a bake sale was hosted on Halloween. Baked goods were donated by many of the students and others helped with selling the products. Some highlights from the spread included: five-flavor Asian-style cheese cookies, freshly-baked cranberry scones, cinnamon rolls, pumpkin bread, and cupcakes. The sale itself was very fun to be involved in and our profits were over $400- a new record for our organization.
If you could bake something for a club bake sale this holiday season, what recipe would you use? We’re looking for ideas for future bake sales and to inspire other clubs to get in the kitchen to raise money!
